 So, I contacted some local businesses asking for trades for the iPod Nano...


Mr Sejpal, from Dhamecha cash and carry in Watford, got back to me straight away and kindly offered me a trade for this brand new, still in the box, Kona bike!!

5th Trade!

Happy Mothers Day!
Had a busy day baking two cakes, one lemon and one carrot (Delicious), then a huge feast for Mothers Day!


However , I couldn't let that distract me from my plan of carrying out a trade a day, which thankfully, so far, has been successful


The H.frogg tie has been given a great new home, and will be worn with love, for the trade of a baby blue, 8gb, ipod Nano!

4th Trade

Having already made two trades in one day and it only being the afternoon, I was desperate to try and bag another one before I left Leeds for London,especially with the short amount of time left trading!


Me and some Uni friends had planned a farewell dinner that Saturday before we left for the Easter break. I definitely wanted to use this chance to tempt people with the evening bag, so I took it along with me.


With it being Mothers Day the next day, and boys being boys, one of   
my friends, Tom, had not bought his Mum a present (thankfully!). Perfect, I thought, so I showed the bag I had to offer and managed to tempt him for a trade for this very fun H. frogg dolphin tie!

Definitely a must have for the Wardrobe!

 After waking up to a trade this morning, the luck continued with my Brothers girlfriend wanting to nab the Starbucks voucher to help her through a week of deadlines at uni!


In return of the Starbucks voucher she has traded with me this cute beaded evening bag, which was an unwanted Christmas gift, Thankyou!

I woke up this morning to the smell of last nights takeaway by my bed, a thumping headache, and pouring rain outside, not the best start to the day. My day was brightened within seconds, from receiving a text from my friend, Jen, asking for the belt to be introduced into her life...

1st Trade!

After two weeks of deadlines and being a hermit in the library, I have managed to make my first trade!

Although I only have a week left of trading, I'm prepared to take on the challenge!

After giving in all my essays, I mentioned to a course friend, Louise, that I was going to begin trading, despite being two weeks behind. Later today I received a text from her saying she had been packing her Uni room for the Easter Break and came across a belt which she was willing to trade for the virtual badge

    Anyone interested in Trading this belt for something of a greater value?

Here's a little bit about me..  I am a final year student at Leeds University,studying Theology and Religious Studies

Why am I blogging?! I am using this page to record my adventure through the Treckstok Trade up. I will record all the details of my journey; the items I trade, people I meet, and how I manage it!

About Trekstock.. They are a charity offering a great opportunity of a three month internship in fundraising and events. This would give me a chance to put all my skills to the test, and hopefully develop some new ones.

About Trekstock

Trekstocks vision is to help beat cancer through funding research of the highest standard and ensuring all young people have the right and relevant information to make better informed lifestyle choices.
 

Officially launched in March 2010, Trekstock supports young people with cancer, by raising funds and awareness through music, fashion and art collaborations, and organised trekking experiences. Through this they are communicating a vital message through the things young people love and letting these unique experiences do the talking. All profits will fund the lifesaving research for the specific types of cancer that affect this age group.

                                                         ...Together we hope to create real change.

The Project

The Challenge 

To trade a virtual Trekstock badge for something of greater value in a series of trades over a 3 week period, each trade should secure something of a greater value than the last trade, for example swapping a top for a jacket

Trading Dates

Start: 9am Monday 5th March

I will start off with a virtual badge, which I hope to trade up into something bigger, better, and less virtual. I will upload all my trades here, so look out for any items you're interested in, and trade in something for it!

Finish: 6pm Friday 23rd March

After Trading
On Monday 2nd April, I will put the final trade on eBay, with all profits going to Trekstock.
The selling will end a week later on Monday 2nd April

The Overal Aim
To raise as much money for Trekstock as I can!

I will be assessed on the selling value that my final item achieves on eBay, and how interesting or inventive the item is
